Hot on the heels of the Blacktown Football Association and Blacktown Spartans National Premier League Club completing a joint first pilot program with the DMWD Foundation comes a second sport that has now committed to a pilot program.

DMWD is delighted that Hockey NSW will now provide the DMWD Education Program to its Athlete Acceleration Program (AAP). This program is aimed at talented athletes aged 16-18 years (Boys and Girls). 60 Boys and 60 Girls from regions all over NSW will undertake the DMWD Education Program. They are the elite players in their age groups. They will complete Lessons 1 and 2 on the weekend of November 4 and 5.

The up and coming hockey stars of the future, will then reassemble at the State Hockey Centre at Sydney Olympic Park on December 16 and 17 to complete Lesson 3 and the program. Hockey NSW CEO David Thompson saw an immediate fit with the Athlete Acceleration Program. “This DMWD Program is a wonderful value added to these talented athletes .Many come from remote areas of the state and would not normally have access to such a vital and important education message. We at Hockey NSW are excited to be involved with the DMWD program, we see the importance of it and we want our athletes to benefit from this opportunity. It is an excellent fit.”

DMWD Chairman Daniel Prasad a former hockey player himself of note, was thrilled that a second sport namely hockey is now involved in the pilot program. “Basically, they become young ambassadors in their local areas. This is the perfect way to let people from all over, know about the DMWD Foundation and what we are trying to do.”
Thanks to the LIVE coverage of the pilot one program on Fox Sports and the
coverage in the Blacktown Sun Newspaper, awareness of the DMWD program
is growing. November will be a busy month for DMWD. The Pilot Program with Hockey
NSW will start the month. Then will follow another football pilot program at Sutherland Association and Sutherland Sharks National Premier League Club. The Foundation will then return to Blacktown Football Association to complete the Parents Education component of the program.
In the New Year Netball NSW will be participating in the DMWD Program.
