Months of hard work finally paid off last night when the Don’t Mess with Drugs Foundation conducted its first pilot program at Blacktown Football Association and Blacktown Spartans Football Club.

15 players looking resplendent in their black and orange tracksuits from the Blacktown Spartans National Premier League First Grade ,Under 20 and Under 18 squads participated in Lessons 1 and 2 of the program at the Associations headquarters at Rooty Hill. DMWD Chairman and founder of the Foundation, Daniel Prasad was both
relieved and thrilled at the end of the stressful night. “A significant milestone was achieved with the first formal pilot program. This is the culmination of months of work and fantastic teamwork to get to this point. We now have a very solid platform.”
It was a memorable occasion for the Chairman who has worked tirelessly since forming the Foundation in April 2016. He also had the added pressure of being the educator for the pilot program.

DSCN6868Blacktown Football Association CEO Bill Kostandas who played a key role in his Association/Blacktown Spartans involvement was most impressed with
the presentation. “Clearly, a lot of thought, research and effort has gone into this program .The content and presentation of it, was excellent and extremely worthwhile and beneficial to our players. As a father of three girls, I found this to be most enlightening, and I expect our players will have also.”

Denis Nascimben is the Director of Senior Football and a Club Director with
Blacktown Spartans. He had the rare opportunity to attend the pilot program
with his son, Dominic who is the first grade goalkeeper. ‘To be able to be in the in the room with Dominic while this program was being conducted was really beneficial for me as a father and coach. It meant we could discuss the program freely and interact with each other at home. I thought the program was very beneficial it explained the drug problem in a simple but very concerning way. I am looking forward to Thursday night to hear what Dominic and the other players have to say in the question and answer segment”

There is plenty of interest in the pilot program with the local newspaper
Blacktown Sun covering the night. In a massive boost for DMWD Fox Sports Senior Reporter /Producer Andrew McKinlay will be going LIVE on the night. He will also be conducting interviews for other news segments on Fox Sports. Channel Seven News Reporter Michelle Bishop has indicated she may also be attending to cover on the nightly news.
